SHOPPER'S DRUG MART DONATES $37,000 TO MICHAEL GARRON HOSPITAL

Community relations person for the Michael Garron Hospital says “The donation from the Growing Women’s Health Foundation is incredibly generous”.

Justin Van Dette was given a generous donation from the Growing Women’s Health foundation. Van Dette received the cheque at the Coxwell Shopper’s Drug Mart in East York. The cheque was publicly given in front of customers on January 17th. The donation is to help women’s health at the Michael Garron hospital. Van Dette was pleased to find out the Foundation raised over $37,000 to the cause.

“It’s wonderful to see the local community, businesses, organizations, that want to give back to important charities like the Michael Garron Hospital,” Van Dette said.

Many supporters and volunteers attended the event such as Joe Eppele, a former Toronto Argonauts CFL (Canadian Football League) player. Eppele has been a supporter of the Women’s Health Foundation and the Michael Garron Hospital for a couple of years now.

“It’s great to have opportunities to come out and help support the Hospital. Creating events like this is good to bring more awareness to the cause and bring the numbers up higher,” Eppele said.

The campaign has been running for over 8 years and continues to raise money to improve women’s health. The Women’s Health Foundation has raised over $300,000 so far in it’s campaign. The donation was made possible by the 11 Shopper’s Drug Mart and the East York community supporting the cause.
